Basseterre, St. Kitts (WINN): St. Kitts and Nevis is set to receive 21,600 AstraZenecaVaccines on Tuesday, April 6, according to the Pan American Organisation (PAHO).
The vaccines are the first batch purchased through the global vaccination initiative COVAX, led by the World Health Organisation (WHO), UNICEF, the Vaccine Alliance, and others.
As of last Wednesday (March 31), local officials reported that 28 percent of the St. Kitts and Nevis population, 9241 people, had received the first dose of the 20,000 COVID-19 vaccines in the country.
Seven other CARICOM countries are due to receive COVAX vaccine supplies this week.
