St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): A Structural Engineer from the St. Kitts Public Works Department joined regional counterparts of the Rapid Needs Assessment Team to help with the rebuilding efforts in Grenada and its dependents.

Mr Jared Joseph formed part of the Rapid Needs Assessment Team deployed to Grenada on Sunday, July 07, 2024.

The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) Coordinating Unit said it is “grateful for the team’s work, which is critical to informing response and relief efforts.”

The Rapid Needs Assessment Team commenced assessments in Carriacou, which was destroyed when Hurricane Beryl made landfall on the island on July 01.

Hundreds of homes and other critical infrastructure were wiped out during the passage of Hurricane Beryl.

Prime Minister of Grenada-Dickon Mitchell said he is committed to ensuring that after the assessments, Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique will be cleaned up, and whatever infrastructure was lost will be rebuilt stronger and better.
