Additional COVID-19 death recorded as fourth wave numbers decline in SKN

St.Kitts and Nevis (WINN): As of Monday, January 24, 2022, at 7:00 pm, the St.Kitts-Nevis COVID-19 situation report confirmed an additional COVID-19 related death and 33 new cases of the Coronavirus. The 4th wave of the virus, which began on December 24, has seen COVID-19 cases spike up to three digit numbers. However, over the past week, daily new cases of the infectious disease have been on the decline.

As at present, there are 602 active COVID-19 cases in the Federation. The overall total cases to date are 5 303; 4 515 cases have been recorded in St.Kitts, while 788 have been recorded in Nevis. A total of 4 669 cases have been recovered.

Consequently, COVID-19 deaths rose in the last two days. The death of 3 persons was reported on Sunday’s dashboard, as well as an additional death on Monday. The total confirmed death in the Federation moves to 32.

WINN FM’s News Team contacted Dr. Cameron Wilkinson- Medical Chief of Staff at the Joseph N France General Hospital who confirmed that the recent COVID-19 death occurred in St. Kitts.

As the pandemic rages on, health officials continue to encourage individuals who are sick to isolate themselves or get tested. They too have continued their calls for individuals to get vaccinated and boosted against the infectious disease.
