Akanye Samuel-Francis cops silver medal at CARIFTA 2024

St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Team Unstoppable SKN has another medal on the table at CARIFTA 2024 in St. Georges Grenada.


Akanye Samuel Francis achieved the silver medal in the Male Under 17 400m hurdles on Sunday evening, March 31.


Akanye was the gold medallist in the same event at CARIFTA 2023 in Bahamas, with a time of 54.14 seconds. At the 2024 showing, he stopped the clock at 52.88 seconds, marking a new personal best.


He is the second athlete for Team Unstoppable SKN to capture a medal in the 51st CARIFTA Games. He joins teammate Jaheem Clarke as a medallist.


Akanye will approach the podium for the medal presentation on Sunday evening March 31.


The next event for Akanye Samuel Francis is the Under 17 Male 110m hurdles semi-finals at 9:30 a.m. on Monday April 01.
