St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): A report from the Royal Anguilla Police Force confirmed that the armed robber of a supermarket in East End on Sunday afternoon, July 07, was shot and killed by police.

The deceased is a 19-year-old male from Rey Hill- Anguilla.

A police report notes, “This incident occurred spontaneously at a supermarket on the Eastern End of the island, where officers were attending to an unrelated matter. Evidence from the scene indicates that the deceased entered the supermarket and was in the process of committing an armed robbery, prompting immediate action from the police. A non-police-issued firearm was recovered from the supermarket.”

A police source said while the incident may have brought some sort of shock to the community, it appears to be an isolated incident, with no wider threat to the public.

Thoughts and prayers were extended to the individuals affected by the incident.
