Basseterre, St. Kitts (WINN) -The Ministry of Education received 100 Tablet Computers from the proceeds of the ‘One Yard Virtual Concert’ staged by the ANSA McCAL Foundation on Friday, October 31, 2020.
Managing Director of Carib Brewery, Mark Wilkin presented the tablets to the Minister of Education Jonel Powell on behalf of the ANSA Mc CAL Foundation.
The ‘One Yard Virtual Concert staged by the ANSA McCAL Foundation featured “some of the best talent in the region and aimed to improve access to remote learning for children in the Caribbean during the COVID-19 pandemic”, Mr. Wilkin said.
Minister Powell thanked the group for its assistance in facilitating remote learning at this time.
The tablets are to be distributed to schools on St Kitts and on Nevis after they are registered in the ministry’s database and prepared for the children’s use, according to a press release from the government.
The One Caribbean Future Fund was created with the money raised from the One Yard concert.
The ANSA Mc CAL Foundation has already distributed tablets to Ministries of Education in Trinidad, Barbados, Guyana, and Grenada.
