Dr Marcus Natta thanked Pastor Connor and the church members for the kind gesture.

“Pastor Connor, I really want to thank you and the members of your church for this generous donation. It will go an extremely long way in the work that we are doing, not only in scholarships but we have given school supplies. Over the years, we gave over 60,000 items in school supplies to both Tucker Clarke and the Irishtown Primary School, and we hope to expand that. So, thank you very much.”

The William Marcus Natta Memorial Scholarship Fund was established on April 8, 2010, the birthday of Mr William Natta, to encourage primary school students in the Federation to strive for academic and civic excellence. The Scholarship Fund will be celebrating its 13th anniversary in 2023.

Natta said, ” While we could have done a lot of different things, the scholarship fund really stood out to us; and it is special in the sense that it focuses on the financial need of the students. There are lots of awards for best in Math and best in Science, and all of these things are very good, but we are looking for well-rounded individuals, so the financial need of the student is first and foremost if they are a decent human being involved in their community and their school, that’s what we look at, and academics is the very last thing we look at. So, as our motto says, we look to give ” A Helping Hand Along Your Way”, and that’s what we try to do with the students.”

The scholarship window for 2023 opened on March 1 and runs until May 1. The Natta Family remain in contact with the past scholarship recipients and seek to support and build more bonds with the Federation’s youth.
