By Clive Bacchus

St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The Governor-General of Barbados, Dame Sandra Mason, says the government is prepared to recognize a form of civil union for couples of the same gender.

She said that move would ensure that no human being in Barbados will be discriminated against in the exercise of civil rights that ought to be theirs.

A civil union is a legal status that allows the same sex-couples to benefit from specified rights and responsibilities similar to married couples.
