St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The St.Kitts Nevis National Carnival Committee has organised a climate change theme dubbed “Beauty and the Beast” for the 2022 hosting of the Junior Carnival Parade.
According to the St. Kitts and Nevis National Carnival Committee, “The issue of climate change is the most serious peril facing mankind and it is important for the children of the Federation to have a simple understanding about climate change and how it could impact their life and future.”
The folklore groups for the Junior Carnival Parade will be divided into two categories; part one: The Beauty of God’s Creation and part two: The Beast-forces of climate change.
Part 1 will feature presentations under the sub themes Island in the Sun, Sweet Mother Nature, Moonlight over Basseterre and Marine Sea Life.
Part 2 will feature presentations under the sub themes Plastic Monsters, The Endangered, Exotic Creatures and Ocean Predators.
The Carnival Committee is inviting parents to sign up their children for any of the presentations listed for parade day. Registration is underway at the Carnival Secretariat at E.C Daniel Building on Cayon Street.
The Junior Carnival Parade is slated for Saturday, December 31, 2022.
