(Antigua Observer) – Caribbean Cinemas has closed its Antigua location until further notice, following health breaches that previously led to the closure of its concession stands.
The cinema announced the full closure in an online notice to customers, saying it was working to improve the facility.
“As we work to better our cinema we will be closed until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience this may bring and appreciate your understanding,” the notice read.
The move follows health enforcement action over food safety and sanitation breaches at the cinema’s concession stands.
The earlier concerns centred on conditions at the concessions, with health officials requiring corrective measures before they could reopen.
However, the operators reopened the food stands on Sunday without taking the required action, prompting officials from the Central Board of Health (CBH), accompanied by police, to visit the establishment and order the stands closed.
