St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): CARICOM Leaders are meeting online for the 42nd Regular Meeting of Heads of Government at a time when the region has had its first hurricane and is still reeling from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Office of the Prime Minister has announced that Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris leads the St. Kitts and Nevis delegation to the Forty-second Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government.
Premier of Nevis and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mark Brantley; Financial Secretary, Mrs. Hilary Hazel; Permanent Secretaries Ms. Kaye Bass, Mr. Osmond Petty and Mr. Ron Collins; Ambassador Sydney Osborne and Ambassador Vance Amory, as well as Mr. Samuel Berridge, Assistant Secretary in St. Kitts and Nevis Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit (RIDU) are part of the Federation’s delegation to the meeting.
Recent flooding in Guyana and Suriname, the volcanic eruption in St Vincent and the Grenadines and other developmental challenges are on the agenda.
Outgoing Secretary-General of CARICOM Irwin La Rocque made the case for concessional financing and collective efforts to tackle climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prioritizing regional food production and food security
The removal of roaming charges to enhance the ICT sector
A common CARICOM Tourism Policy
The revival of regional transportation
Tax transparency, blacklisting and de-risking
The CARICOM Single Market and Economy
