St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): CARICOM has confirmed that an Election Observer Mission is presently in the Federation.
In a statement posted today (June 4), the body announced that they were invited by the government of St Kitts and Nevis.
The three-member team is being led by Mr. Gasper Jean Baptiste, Chief Elections Officer of Saint Lucia, H.E. Mr. Arley Gill of Grenada, and Mr. Chester Arlington Humphrey also of Grenada.
The Mission will meet with electoral officials, leaders of political parties and other stakeholders. The group will also monitor the opening and closing of the polls, the voting process and the counting of the ballots.
The Observer Mission will issue a Preliminary Statement on its observations and findings and a subsequent report on the general elections will be prepared and submitted to the Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community, the release added.
The Mission will leave the Federation on June 7, 2020.
