St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): What is in it for a CFBC alumni? Ms. Jaedee Caines spoke to this at the Virtual Launch of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College Alumni Association on February 5, 2022.

Ms. Caines, an alumnus, recalled graduating from the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College in 2005 with a CAPE Certificate. She shared fond memories of meeting “remarkable lecturers and students, engaging in meaningful and thought provoking discussions,” as well as representing the institution and St.Kitts as a debater at the Leeward Islands level.

Ms. Caines gave credit to the CFBC for playing a role in her professional development.

Colleges and universities worldwide have vibrant alumni associations, who offer benefits to colleges and universities, members of the alumni bodies, as well as current students. According to Ms. Caines, the CFBC Alumni Association is seeking to operate in a similar manner and outlined the initiatives.

“This alumni association wants to offer dedicated alumni support through career services, alumni scholarships and platform for recognition of alumni accomplishments; gather and maintain database of employment information, which will assist us to source suitable jobs, provide opportunities for the alumni members to socialise with each other and have a good time, while also expanding our personal and professional connections; grant us access to CFBC resources including libraries, lecture halls, training centres and career services that are useful to the members of the association; update or involve us in the college’s special events and overall development, provide opportunities for us to network with alumni in the Federation and abroad and it’s a perfect opportunity to increase the value of our academic credentials that we gained at CFBC.”

In addition, the alumni association would provide opportunities for persons to make monetary contributions or otherwise.

Ms. Caines, a Nevisian alumni, said she personally would like to assist Nevisian CFBC students in any way possible.

To join the association, individuals should complete a sign up form. The forms will be made available at CFBC, as well as electronically. Ms. Caines said social media platforms will be created, whereby individuals can be kept up to date about events and activities within the association.
