St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The private sector umbrella group the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (CIC) is moving to launch public awareness programs, in collaboration with the ministry of health, to encourage everyone to get vaccinated.

President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Giselle Matthews has pressed the membership to encourage one another to register and to educate employees to work toward the theme “Don’t hesitate, vaccinate!”

“If we are serious about moving on with our lives… the only way to do this is to vaccinate… different variants are raising their heads continuously, viruses continue to mutate, which is normal…we have a huge responsibility,” Mrs. Matthews told WINN on Saturday (March 6).

The Chamber is working with the Ministry of Health on rolling out a public awareness campaign, she added.

St. Kitts and Nevis has received 22,000 Astrazeneca vaccines so far and as of Friday, March, 5, 3509 people had taken the jab – 2582 on St. Kitts and 927 on Nevis.

The CIC has posted on its website a picture of its Executive Director, Andrew Satney declaring he had taken the vaccine and urging everyone to do the same.
