St. Lucia (St. Lucia Times) – Prime Minister Allen Chastanet has declared that this country is ‘coming back’ amid the current COVID-19 pandemic.
“As we continue to manage this pandemic, the costs will continue to rise. I know a lot of you are still suffering but our country is coming back,” he stated.
But the Prime Minister asserted that “we must stay the course.”
“Our tourism industry is back on the rebound,” he disclosed Tuesday in an address to the nation.
According to Chastanet, leading into January 2021, over 5000 hospitality workers, over 1000 taxi drivers, tour company operators, had returned to work.
He expressed the view that this was due the fact that Saint Lucia led the way in the strict protocols for arrivals and its global advocacy for pre-testing.
