CMO: St Kitts and Nevis Has 123 Active Cases of COVID-19

St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis has seen an outbreak of confirmed COVID-19 cases in just a few days.

The Chief Medical Officer Dr. Hazel reports that the number of confirmed cases has jumped to 187 with 123 active cases. In just three weeks (from May 19, 2021) health officials have confirmed 142 cases of coronavirus in the country.

“Of these 142 cases we have had 19 recoveries… at present we are monitoring 123 active cases…on Wednesday 11 results returned positive, on Thursday, 25 results returned positive, yesterday Friday, June 11, 32 test results returned positive, ” the CMO explained.

“At present, there are four individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Three are stable, one is experiencing moderate COVID-019 disease,” Dr. Laws reported.

St Kitts has recorded 173 confirmed cases of COVID-19 while Nevis has recorded 14 cases and all 14 have recovered since last year. Recovered cases stand at 64 and the Federation’s population estimated at 54,000, has no recorded death from the disease.
