St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): April is youth month for Nevis, and the Department of Youth has released a full slate of activities for the month, which includes various easter camps, youth in the news, a poetry writing competition, a fun day and more.
The month started with a church service at the Shiloh Baptist Church on April 2, where the Minister of Youth, Hon. Troy Liburd, the staff of the Department of Youth and supporters from the Ministry of Education, Sports, et al. worshipped.
Deputy Speaker in the National Assembly of St. Kitts & Nevis, Hon. Latoya Jones, expressed her excitement about the St Thomas Parish Youth Excellence Award, which recognises youth 18 to 29 years of age for their performance and contribution in Nevis. She has awarded 12 young people in the last two years and looks forward to revealing the 2023 awardees.
The theme for Youth Month 2023 is “Inspire to Aspire”, and using the theme, the Department of Youth substituted the traditional Minister’s address with a short film featuring the Minister of Youth on Nevis, the Hon. Troy Liburd.
The film was an ode to youth and showed various capabilities of young people who are motivated and inspired to act.
According to the Department of Youth, Mr Erleon David of Skyshun Digital produced the video.
