(Dominica News Online) Dominica’s Dr. Valda Henry has been appointed Deputy Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), the first woman ever to assume this role. Her five-year appointment commences from September 2021.
Speaking to Dominica News Online (DNO) Dr. Henry said that she is elated, excited, overjoyed but also humbled by this opportunity – more so because she believes it has come from God. She revealed that she applied for the post just half an hour before the deadline.
“This is all about God. This is not really even about me. I owe Him all the thanks and the praise and the glory for this appointment. This new chapter in my book of life, this new leg of my journey is God… and I know that, so that makes me even more humble seeing that God is saying that this is a path that I ought to trod,” she said to DNO.
