St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The Leader of St. Kitts Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) is dismissing claims that his party is not throwing its full weight behind the county’s efforts to achieve herd immunity- vaccinating 70 percent of the population.
Opposition Leader Dr. Denzil Douglas told WINN that the SKNLP is not against vaccines.
“The party has never ever been against vaccination, and to say that we are anti-vax it means that people do not understand what the term means. It means that there is an absolute block against taking vaccines of all kinds. I have been very very consistent in saying for my own personal reasons I have not taken the Astrazenica vaccine, I’ve consulted with my doctors, my family, and that is the position I have arrived at but I have never ever, neither has the party ever dissuaded anyone from taking the vaccine.”
Dr. Douglas said his party is pro-choice.
