St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, the St. Kitts Nevis Labour Party’s Member of Parliament for East Basseterre is congratulating his new political opponent Ms. Natasha Grey following the announcement of her candidacy for the People’s Action Movement in the said constituency.
“I want to say congratulations to Natasha Grey and my very best wishes and I welcome her to the political arena,” Dr. Hanley told WINN on Tuesday.
“I think by now it is public knowledge that we are very good friends…and when I entered she wished me the very best and congratulated me after my victory.
Being involved in politics, we have always supported our different parties and that never affected our relationship and certainly, her entering into active politics will not affect our relationship.”
Ms. Grey, a lawyer, and Dr. Hanley, an educator, will face off in the next general election constitutionally due in 2025.
Dr. Hanley secured the East Basseterre seat in the June 05, 2020 general election when he defeated Ian “Patches” Liburd by 24 votes.
