Basseterre: St. Kitts, April 28, 2021: The Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Health continue vaccination sensitization workshops with all employees of the Early Childhood sector on Friday, April 30. The sessions are geared at reducing Covid-19 vaccination hesitancy by outlining the benefits of being vaccinated, clarifying any misunderstandings, and quelling the fears around being inoculated.
The vaccine sensitization sessions will be held at the designated Early Childhood Zones.
The Rural West Zone which includes staff from all day-care centers and preschools from Challengers to Dieppe Bay will participate in their session at the Calvary Baptist Tabernacle Church in Sandy Point at 9 am.
The Rural East Zone 1 which includes all centers from Saddlers to Cayon will participate in their session at the Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Lodge Village at 9 am.
Employees from the Rural East Zone 2 which includes St. Peters and Conaree as well as those in the West Basseterre zone (Village to Dorset) will assemble at the ICCS Auditorium at 9 am for their session. The East Basseterre zone from Market Street to Bird Rock will be held at 1 pm at the ICCS Auditorium.
According to Permanent Secretary of Education Mr. William Hodge, the Ministry of Education supports the government in its aim to reach herd immunity and encourages all employees to get vaccinated. The PS emphasized that the Federation has been very fortunate in getting our children back to school steadily and is continuing to support efforts to safeguard the health and education of students within the school setting.
