St.Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Deputy Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis and Parliamentary Representative for Constituency 1, the Hon Dr. Geoffrey Hanley hosted constituents at the East Basseterre Labour Branch Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday night September 28.
Scores of individuals from Constituency 1 were presented awards and certificates for their volunteerism and commitment to the community throughout the recent campaign and on election day. Dr. Hanley thanked the individuals for ensuring the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party’s victory at the polls on August 5; promising continuous celebration in East Basseterre.
“As we recognize our workers for your work on election day, we now look forward to you even working harder to make sure that the many promises that we shared or said we were going to do, you make sure that we deliver on them. Once again, I want to thank each and every one of you who volunteered during the campaign, whatever role you played, we really appreciate it and we would always be celebrating this victory, because we would not be a Constituency that is dormant. We’re always going to be active and we’re going to keep the fire burning, so that when the time comes around again, it would be even a greater victory.”
Dr. Hanley said “Time is a precious commodity;” expressing that his team in East Basseterre took an extreme amount of time from their busy schedules to assist with the election and never asked for financial compensation. He said, “To volunteer in this capacity speaks volume and for this I am grateful and will never forget you. I thank you for your patience, your generosity throughout, as well as your hard work and dedication.”
