EBJ Harmonics secures top spot in Panorama Steel Band Competition

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN) — EBJ (Earl Boots Jones) Harmonics has been named winner of the Panorama National Steel Band Competition after a thrilling performance of “Sand To The Beach” by Menace. EBJ Harmonics, headed by Omandi Byron and MJ Byron, secured the top spot amongst seven bands, amassing a total of 443 points.

The second-place spot was captured by the Pantastic Steel Orchestra, headed by Mellie Hewlett, with a total of 429 points. They performed “Hookin Meh” by Farmer Nappy.

Nevis Pan Ensemble secured the third-place position performing “Magic Drum” by Machel Montano, copping a total of 408 points.

The fourth-place spot went to Steel on Fire Orchestra out of Nevis. They delivered a powerful performance of “Mystery Band” by Lord Kitchener, and amassed a total of 374 points.

Also participating in the Panorama Steel Band Competition were Pan Doras Steel Orchestra, performing “Gimmie Room” by Ellie Matt; Sweet Sticks Ensemble with “Island Girl/Anything For You” by Burning Flames; and Pan In Splendor with “Old and Grey” by Patrice Roberts.

The Panorama Steel Band Competition was held at Carnival Village on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, and was first introduced in 2006 by the St. Kitts and Nevis National Carnival Committee.
