St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The federation of St. Kitts and Nevis has recorded 49 cases of the coronavirus disease since the community outbreak on May 19, 2021, with eleven (11) new cases being reported from Saturday (June 05) to Sunday (June 06) 2021.

Minister of Health Akilah Byron-Nisbett gave that information at a press briefing on Monday, June 07, 2021.

“Eight additional cases on Saturday and three on Sunday making it eleven cases over the last 48 hours. This finding of these positive cases and their isolation is a testament to the success of our contact tracing program.”

The total confirmed Covid-19 cases in the Federation now stands at 94. There are 41 active cases with four hospitalizations. Fifty-three cases have fully recovered.

To date, the Ministry of Health has identified 1,440 contacts of Covid-19. Of that total, 870 have been cleared and 570 placed in quarantine.

As of Monday, June 07, 2021, a total of 29,884 (63.9%) persons have received their first shot of the AstraZeneca vaccine with 22,748 on St. Kitts and 7,136 on Nevis. 8,759 (26.5%) persons have received both doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
