UK (The Times) – During the pandemic West Indies have been everyone’s best friend. They travelled in our hour of need in the summer to kick-start the international season, saving English cricket from financial meltdown, and they followed that with tours to New Zealand and Bangladesh either side of Christmas. Their players have been notably committed, travelling to regions with much higher rates of Covid-19 than their homelands.
Recognizing the debt owed to West Indies, and to Pakistan, who also toured, the ECB has responded.
