St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): On Sunday (November 21), the Department of Sports, the Ministry of Tourism and the Embassy of the Republic of China Taiwan hosted their first-ever 10-mile Road Relay to commemorate Tourism Awareness Month 2021.
The team that won the relay was Team 005, which consisted of Adolphus Jones, Dequan Nisbett, Aldrette Nisbett, Druson Henry, Keithroy Lake, Jaevian Dasent, Tecaldo Thomas, Tyrique Tobias, Keshanna Huggins and Akanye Samuels who crossed the finish line at Warner Park in a time of 48 minutes and 25 seconds.
The team who were a part of the Extreme Velocity Track Club also secured the EC$1000 prize for the strongest representation in the adult section of the Road Relay. The Edgar T Morris Primary School and the Ball Blade Football Academy, comprising of students from the Tyrell Williams Primary School, each received EC$500 for their strong representation in the race.
The relay started at Warner’s Shop (top of Cleverly Hill) in Sandy Point and ended at Warner Park, Basseterre.
There were three teams of 10 athletes, each with adults and children mixed. Team 007 was second in a time of 51.23, and Team 008 was third in 53.12.
