St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Nevis’ Ministry of Education says all public schools on the island will not reopen for face-to-face learning on Monday.

Following the revelation of a possible COVID-19 exposure at the ministry’s office at Marion Heights, a statement issued Friday night (Sep. 03) said “the physical reopening of all public schools on Nevis will be delayed for one week”.

The ministry said “further updates in relation to the transition to virtual learning and the way forward for our staff and students” will be provided.

Nine new cases were identified Friday bringing the island’s total confirmed cases to 185. Active cases have climbed to 141. Forty-four have recovered and two are in hospital.
