St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services responded to a structural fire call at Main Street Sandy Point on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at approximately 11:30 pm.
The wooden and galvanise structure was fully engulfed in flames upon arrival of the Fire Services. The structure was someone’s residence, and all contents were destroyed.
The structure was located in the vicinity of the Evangelical Church in Sandy Point on the seaside of the road.
Several videos of the fire quickly circulated on social media, showing firefighters working assiduously to extinguish the flames whilst calling on each other to be cautious of electrical wires and to protect nearby properties from damage.
An official from the St.Kitts-Nevis Fire and Rescue Services told WINN FM that the Unit did not experience any challenges and said the fire was extinguished in approximately one hour.
The Sandy Point Fire is the second structural fire in two days. The previous structural fire was located in McKnight on January 13.
