St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN) — Police have made arrests as investigations continue into what police described as “components of a firearm” discovered on Nevis on Thursday, March 04.
Police Superintendent Lyndon David, head of the Nevis Division of the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force, in an interview with WINN on Thursday, did not reveal the names of those arrested.
“We made some arrests, but we’re continuing our investigation…they are in custody still awaiting either to be remanded or to be bailed. Some persons have been charged for varying offenses regarding the firearm itself, and then we would have the importation aspect or the customs charges or offenses that will follow”.
Superintendent David indicated that the police are unable to release the names of the individuals as the investigation is still ongoing.
WINN has received reports that a Customs Officer and an employee of a well-known shipping company may be involved in the matter.
