St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The St. Kitts Music Festival has earned a solid reputation by being one of the most popular and most attractive summer events in the Caribbean; and as such, the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis is ensuring that the event returns on a high in 2023.

Cabinet Secretary Dr. Marcus Natta confirmed the Government’s decision to assist the St. Kitts  Music Festival Committee with funding ahead of the event.

“The Cabinet approved a key financial injection of over EC 1 million dollars for the St. Kitts Music Festival. A portion of this support will facilitate the coverage of outstanding debts from the June 2022 staging of the festival and assist with early marketing and promotion of this year’s event,” the Cabinet Secretary said.

Since the inception of the St. Kitts Music Festival in 1996, it has attracted hundreds of music lovers not only from the Caribbean but from the United States, Canada, and Europe. It was established under the Dr. Denzil Douglas-led Administration as a way to boost the country’s economy.

The St. Kitts Music Festival falls under the Ministry of Tourism, as some of the main objectives of the event are to boost visitor arrivals and entice visitors to “Venture Deeper” into the destination’s offerings.

Patrons saw a return of the St. Kitts Music Festival in 2022, following a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. There was local musical entertainment by Venelle Powell, Dejour, Rucas H.E, Hi-Light, I Mark, Byron Messia, Grandmaster’s Band, Small Axe Band, and Nu Vybes International. The Regional and International artists were Beres Hammond, Lyrikal, Voice, Masicka, Nadia Batson, Christopher Martin, Rotimi, Ashanti, Wale, Shaneil Muir, Jada Kingdom, Fay-Ann Lyons and Bunji Garlin, Keyshia Cole, Destra, Popcaan, Sean Paul, Maxi Priest and Anthony B.

The 2023 hosting of the St. Kitts Music Festival is expected to be exciting and individuals are already looking forward to the artists’ reveal. Some of the artists are to be revealed in short order.

The St. Kitts Music Festival will be held under the chairmanship of Mr Allister Williams. Williams has made significant contributions to the event, having served in the capacity of National Festivals Executive Director. The assistant Chairperson is Devena Reid.

June 22 to 24, 2023 will be the 25th edition of the St. Kitts Music Festival.
