St. Kitts-Nevis (WINN): Opposition Leader Dr. Denzil Douglas, while commending the government’s Peace Initiative for reducing major crimes in the country is raising questions about the administration of the program.

In his presentation of the Budget Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris said the success of the program is evident for all to see.

But Dr. Douglas contends that little is known about the nuts and bolts of the program.

The  government described  “Peace Initiative” was launched by the Ministry of National Security in February 2019 to reportedly reduce violent gang activities that lead to multiple shootings and homicides.

In his presentation, Dr. Harris said some of the people who were earlier weighed down by conflict were now able to enjoy free movement across the country and had an opportunity to improve their lives.
