Governor-General refutes allegations that he launched a money-making project

by Kevon Browne

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): A post making the rounds on social media purports that the Governor-General of St. Kitts and Nevis launched a project intending to help families become wealthier was refuted in a statement from the Governor-General Sir S W Tapley Seaton.

The statement shared on the Government Information Service reads:

“It has just been brought to my attention that there is a story on the internet claiming to emanate from the St. Kitts Nevis Observer.com and purporting to report a matter attributed to me.

I unreservedly refute this story as false and malicious in an attempt to involve me in a matter of which I have no knowledge.

I have, and I am fully engaged in the discharge of my duties as Governor-General and condemn this as false and malicious.

I wish to inform that this matter has been referred to the Police for investigation.”

The pictures circulating on social media depict the false information allegedly coming from the St. Kitts-Nevis Observer. However, upon searching the media house site, there appeared to be no article referencing the fake project.

The picture showed that the article was linked to a Facebook page named “I like it”, and the article was on a website called siegecord.za.com, but upon trying to load the site, the message site not found popped up in the web browser. The origin of this post remains unknown.
