St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Tourism Minister Lindsay Grant provided an update on the South Frigate Bay Enhancement Project now underway at the popular entertainment area along the beach called “De Strip.”
The project funded by the government and the CARICOM Development Fund (CDB), commissioned in November 2016, it involves completing phases of upgrading infrastructure in the area, populated by beach bars, including access facilities and road work. In February 2019, the government received grant funding of US$1.3 million from the CDB for the further enhancement of the area.
The other aspect of the exercise is a beach nourishment project which started in September 2020 and was earmarked for completion in four months.
