St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN) — The multi-million dollar Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) wing at the Gingerland Secondary School (GSS) is expected to be completed by September 2021.
That revelation came on Monday afternoon (February 08) in a Facebook post by Junior Minister of Education in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA), the Hon. Troy Liburd.
“This morning I got a first-hand look at the progress on the new technical wing at the Gingerland Secondary School as part of the TVET Enhancement Project. The building is expected to be completed at the end of the 3rd quarter this year. I am very pleased with the progress so far.”

Mr. Kertney Thompson told WINN on Monday, February 08 that the total cost of construction is at EC$3.8 million and is being built by Lefco Equipment Rental and Construction Company Limited.
The consultant for the project which broke ground in August 2020 is FDL Consult Inc. out of St. Lucia. Construction of the new technical wing at GSS is part of a collaborative TVET Enhancement Project between the NIA and the Federal government.
At completion, the two-story building will facilitate training sessions in Cosmetology, Building and Furniture Technology, Technical Drawing, and Electrical Technology and would be able to accommodate up to 35 persons per classroom.
