(News Source Guyana) General Secretary of the People’s Progressive Party, Bharrat Jagdeo has indicated that his party may seek a recount in several areas where it believes there were some minor errors in the vote count or tallying.
While not providing details at a midnight press conference, Mr. Jagdeo said the party is waiting on the official results from the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) before it contemplates its next move.
“There are couple of areas we are looking at where we believe may warrant a recount that we believe that the SOP was made in error and it didn’t reflect the tally sheet. So the only way you can only fix that mow is by getting a recount of the few of those boxes,” Mr. Jagdeo said.
Mr. Jagdeo believes that his party has been able to pull off wins and has made “in-roads” in areas that he said are traditionally supportive of the APNU.
