St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): On April 26, 2023, during a routine cargo scan several packages concealed inside a punching bag were detected after entering the Federation through the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport on April 25 via ‘Amerijet’ from Miami FL.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and St. Kitts and Nevis Customs and Excise Department halted the smuggling attempt at the Airport after port officials concluded that the packages were suspicious. Law enforcement was then alerted.

The Police indicated that after examining the punching bag, four vacuum-sealed packages with vegetable material suspected to be cannabis were found.

The four vacuum-sealed packages weighed 215 grams, 230 grams, 238 grams and 227 grams totalling some 910 grams of suspected cannabis.

The police indicated that no arrests were made at the time of reporting.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
