St. Kitts and Nevis (WNN): Kittitian, Kiandre Weekes, delivered the Valedictory Speech at the graduation ceremony of the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus on Saturday morning, October 21 2023.

In his Valedictory Speech, Weekes encouraged his fellow graduates to step into their roles as the new generation of visionary leaders of the Caribbean.

“We are the new generation of visionary leaders. As policymakers, we must address political segregation, regional transportation, crime, poverty and discrimination. As professional educators, we must mould those impressionable minds. As lawyers, ensure that the law advances; as poets, narrate our Caribbean story; as scientists, chart the way for scientific development and as legendary sports persons, set and break world records. This is who we dreamt of becoming. This is who we studied to be and this is who we must become.”

The Law Faculty Graduate serves as a Legal Researcher and Attorney General’s Aide in St. Kitts.

Impressed by Kiandre’s academic excellence, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew offered the legal enthusiasts a scholarship to attend the Norman Manley Law School in Jamaica.

Prime Minister Drew’s recent gesture is a testament to his ongoing support to Kiandre Weekes, a resident of Cayon and a fellow constituent. Weekes in 2016, received a monetary award from Dr Drew as Valedictorian of the Cayon High School. In July 2022, he was one of two persons who nominated Dr. Drew as a candidate for the August 05 2022 General Elections.

Prime Minister Drew said, ” Kiandre’s journey from dedication to excellence is an inspiring testament to hard work, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to his goals. His achievements reflect not only his individual brilliance but also the strength of character and resilience instilled in him.

I know him personally, and I am filled with immense pride. I have no doubt that Kiandre’s future in the legal field will be marked by continued success and positive impact.”
