(Loop SLU) Stephenson King is no longer the Minister for Infrastructure, according to Prime Minister Allen Chastanet.
“If you are no longer a member of my party, no longer a member of my Cabinet, automatically he has resigned from the portfolio and I accept his resignation,” Chastanet told a press conference Friday.
With King gone, does this mean Saint Lucia has no Minister for Infrastructure?
“Because of the timing of where we are, I have assumed the responsibility of the Minister of Infrastructure, Ports and Labour,” Chastanet said.
According to UWP Chairman Pinkley Francis, King’s letter had only indicated his intention to contest the general election as an independent candidate and did not speak to resigning from the party explicitly.
