St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): While the St. Kitts Nevis Labour Party is giving low marks to the incumbent Team Unity Administration efforts at good governance, fingers are also pointed at the SKNLP’s own 20-year-old track record in that area.
In 2020, St. Kitts and Nevis is still without campaign financing laws to regulate the use of money during elections, access to information is still a work in progress- Freedom of Information Laws have been passed but are not in use, the Integrity In Public Life Commission is still in its infancy, electoral boundary reform is still a hill too far.
So, why didn’t the SKNLP implement Freedom of Information, Integrity in Public Life, Campaign Financing and other good governance legislation when it had the chance to do so.
That question was put to SKNLP candidate for Constituency #3 Konris Maynard and candidate for Constituency #8 Dr. Terrance Drew on WINN’s weekend special Inside the News.
