Trinidad & Tobago (Loop T&T): A local dancehall artiste was among five persons held last night in a police operation for possession of a stolen item.
The five men, who are from the Morvant and San Juan areas, are all expected to be placed on identification parades today.
They were held between 6pm and 7pm yesterday during a sting operation which was carried out by members of the North Eastern Division Task Force, including Sgt Bharath, Cpl Majeed, Pc Dass, Mieres, Andrews, Simon, Nanan and others.
The officers were investigating a report of a home invasion last week in San Juan, where a family of Chinese descent was assaulted and robbed.
After a report was made to police, it was observed that one of the stolen items, an iPhone 11 Pro, had been listed for sale on social media sites.
Arrangements were made by the police to meet the buyer under the pretence of purchasing the phone.
Four persons came with the seller to Croisee in San Juan and as a result, they were all apprehended.
The phone was recovered and correctly identified.
