St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The St. Kitts Tourism Authority Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ellison “Tommy” Thompson, and Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Melnecia Marshall, visited the island of Barbados, where they invited individuals to a great summer experience in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
Marshall, in speaking to the audience of “Mornin’ Barbados”, shared several activities that will take place in the Federation during the summer months.
‘In St. Kitts, we are going to be launching the Summer Fun for St.Kitts and Nevis, and basically, the campaign looks at all there is happening within the two islands over the space of June to maybe the beginning of September and of course it kicks off with the St. Kitts Music Festival from the 22nd to the 24th of June.”
The artists confirmed thus far for the St. Kitts Music Festival are Byron Messia, Grand Masters Band, Chronixx, Air Supply, Valiant, Patrice Roberts, Koffee, Govana, Skillibeng, and Skinny Fabulous. More artists will be unveiled on March 23.
The other summer fun activities are the Nevis Mango Festival (June 30 to July 02, 2023), Culturama – The Greatest Summer Lime (July 27 to August 08, 2023), Restaurant Week (July 13 to July 23, 2023) and the Caribbean Premier League (August 31 to September 30, 2023) at Warner Park St. Kitts. The Kittitian Rum Master Program has also been launched, where visitors can learn about rum making, which is an all-year-round activity. Other year-round activities included ziplining, train tours, ATV bike riding and hiking.
Meanwhile, the Tourism Authority’s Chief Executive Officer said there are various accommodation opportunities in the Federation for all who choose to visit.
“We’ve got a range of accommodations – moderate to all the way up to luxurious, so you can go to the Park Hyatt, or you can go to Timothy Hill, or you can get an apartment, whichever suits your fancy.”
Thompson also highlighted the easy access to the Federation through the non-stop airline services of interCaribbean Airways from Barbados. The flights are scheduled three times per week, Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
