St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The M/V Makana has been in operation for the past 30 years providing intra-regional travel opportunities to various destinations including St. Maarten, Anguilla, Saba and St. Eustatius; St. Kitts and Nevis will soon benefit from this ferry service.
Regional heads of government have been calling for the expansion of affordable intra-regional travel options to mutually stimulate the region’s economies and foster growth that is not dependent on the movement of international people into the region.
The ferry services of Makana will allow regional travellers to experience all that St. Kitts and Nevis has to offer. Considering the ongoing preparation for Carnival; ‘Sugar Mas’ 51 in December, hundreds of revellers are expected to travel to the Federation; thus contributing to the country’s economy.
