Magnitude 4.3 Earthquake Rattles Caribbean Islands

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN) – A magnitude 4.3 earthquake early Thursday (Dec. 03) rattled nearby Caribbean islands but apparently caused no major damage or casualties.

The earthquake struck at approximately 5:15 am and was located at latitude 16.08 north and longitude 60.80 west at a depth of 17 kilometers.

According to the Seismic Research Centre at the University of the West Indies, it was felt 84 kilometers east-south-east of Point-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe; 108 kilometers north-east of Roseau, Dominica; and 163 kilometers south-east of Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda.
