Male and female to serve three years in prison for possession of gun and ammunition

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Sylaine Phipps and Tyrique Jones were convicted of the Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition on April 17, 2023.

Both men were sentenced to serve three years in His Majesty’s Prison on each charge, sentences to run concurrently.

Tyrique Jones, 26 years old and a police officer at the time of the offence, of Wades Garden, was charged on October 28, 2021. While remanded at His Majesty’s Prison Jones was stabbed multiple times by another prisoner on November 30, 2021.

Sylaine Phipps of Boyds Village, 29-year-old at the time of the offence, was charged for the same offences after a Beretta PX4 Storm Pistol and several rounds of .9mm ammunition were found in her possession during a security check at the entrance of Dubai Nightclub & Lounge, on October 22, 2021.
