St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Investigations are underway as police try to gather leads into a shooting incident that occurred at Conaree on Monday night, June 19, 2023.

According to reports by the Royal St.Christopher and Nevis Police Force, Hance Lawrence of Conaree was entering his yard sometime between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Monday night (June 19) when several shots were fired at him. Lawrence, however, made it into the house without any injury.

The police report also confirmed the collection of 12 spent bullet shells and two warhead bullets by the Crime Scene Unit. Other items of evidential value were seized by police.

The Conaree shooting incident followed a similar incident that occurred in Gingerland, Nevis a night prior, Sunday, June 18, where Terito Browne was approached by masked assailants upon entering his home. In an effort to escape, he was shot at and sustained injury to his left arm.

During a recent Police Press Conference, the Police High Command assured the public of the police commitment to preserve law and order and maintain peace and security in the Federation. Senior law enforcement officials also emphasised the importance of teamwork between police and members of the community aimed at curbing criminal activities. The community is encouraged to share any pertinent information with the police to help with the solving of crimes.
