St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The St. Kitts-Nevis National Carnival Miss Talented Teen Pageant returns in 2022 after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the St. Kitts – Nevis National Carnival Committee, nine ambassadors from nine high schools in St. Kitts and Nevis will be contesting this year’s pageant.

Miss Cayon High School – Brenna Paul

Miss Washington Archibald High School – Kajoy Isaac

Miss Charles E Mills Secondary School – Seia Mason

Miss Verchilds High School – Takyla Hart Johnson

Miss Basseterre High School – Zahra Humphrey

Miss Immaculate Conception Catholic School – Makaila Martin

Miss Gingerland Secondary School – Haddassah Daniel

Miss Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College – Maleah Erskine

Miss Advanced Vocational Education Centre – Rihanna Hodge

Mr. Javon Liburd, Chair of the Talented Teen Pageant Sub-Committee, says patrons should expect a bigger show with more exciting girls and more exciting segments this year.

Liburd also explained how women could benefit from pageantry and encouraged interested women to push forward in that regard.

“I think it is important for young girls, young women to know their self-worth and build self-confidence and self-esteem. I think the pageant creates an opportunity for girls to be aware of who they are, to push the limits and to also show the world what they can accomplish. I would encourage any young woman, who has [an] interest in any pageant, be it the Talented Teen, the Swimsuit {Pageant] of Miss St.Kitts [to] go for it. You are responsible for pushing yourself. Only you know what you are capable of. Go for it.”

The National Carnival Talented Teen Pageant will be hosted at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort Event Center, Frigate Bay, on Tuesday, December 20, at 8:00 pm. Admission is EC $20.00.

Tickets for the event are available on the website www.SKNCarnival.com and the National Carnival Secretariat in the EC Daniel Building on Cayon Street. No ticket sales will be at the gate.

The last National Carnival Teen Pageant was held in December 2019, where Ms. Shanika Joshua of the Washington Archibald Highschool emerged victorious.
