St.Kitts and Nevis (WINN): A museum will be erected in honour of the first National Hero of St.Kitts and Nevis, Sir Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw, by the end of 2023.
According to the Prime Minister of St.Kitts and Nevis, Hon. Dr Terrance Drew, the museum will be erected at the home of the National Hero.
“The home of the first National Hero should be a symbol of self-sacrifice and putting the nation above self. It should be a symbol for those who visit us that we hold in high esteem those persons who have made a significant contribution to nation-building.”
The plan is for the museum to be erected before September 16, 2023, the 25th celebration of National Heroes Day in St.Kitts and Nevis and Sir Robert L Bradshaw’s 107th birthday.
The unveiling of the project design for the Robert L Bradshaw Museum was held on Labour Day, May 01, 2023.
One of the first decisions by the Cabinet after winning the August 05, 2022, elections was to initiate a restoration project at Bradshaw’s home and transform it into a museum. Through its local embassy, the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) donated some funds to the project in December 2022.
Additionally, the Prime Minister, during a social media post, identified several individuals who are playing significant roles in the project; Victor Williams, Project Manager and Project Lead, Arlene Edwards of Williams Architectural; Peter Jenkins of Jenkins Limited, Lennox Warner of Lennox Warner & Partner, Travis Merritt of DreamWorks Design and Calvin Esdaille.
The Coordinating Agency for the project is the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), represented by Ashmaine Allers, Project Manager in the PMO.
