St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Under the theme “Fostering Economic Growth Through Innovation”, the island of Nevis is seeing the return of the popular “Agriculture Open Day” after a two-year hiatus which came as a result of COVID-19 restrictions on mass events.
Organised and sponsored by the Department of Agriculture, the two-day event will take place from Thursday 24 to Friday 25 March, 2022 beginning at 8 a.m., and is being held under the patronage of Mr. John Parris.
“So we’re looking for all of St. Kitts and Nevis to come and everybody else to come. I know normally we get people from as far as Sint Eustatius and the U.S. Virgin Islands coming for our Open Day…at the E T. Willett Park,” said Premier of Nevis Hon. Mark Brantley at his February 24, 2022 Press Conference.
Entertainment will be provided by “Infamus” and Blackstone Family on Thursday 24 and Kore Band and Wrecklife Movement on Friday 25. Admission is $5.00 for adults and children in uniform enter free.
Agriculture Open Day usually entails the sale of a number of items including fruit trees, pet fish, ornamental plants, fruits, vegetables, and has an abattoir that offers a wide variety of meats which includes mutton, beef, smoked ham, and rabbit. In addition to veterinarian services, NGOs and other agricultural-based groups will be on hand to provide information.
