St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The party is on for August Monday and Tuesday, and this time it is not a Culturama Committee production.
Instead, the Nevis Island Administration has jumped in to fill the void left by the cancellation of the mega cultural festival which was scheduled for August 3rd and 4th.
Confirmation of the new Emancipation holiday weekend activities came from the Chairman of the Cultural Committee, Antonio Abonaty Liburd, who recently told WINN that the committee did not get the necessary clearance from the NEOC on Nevis to stage events.
Now that the party has returned, it will be done under strict new COVID-19 regulations that must be adhered to by the committee, according to the chairman.
Patrons will be asked to wear face masks and stay three feet apart from each other, and vendors will also have to wear face masks and have hand sanitizers and washing stations for their customers.
As part of the activities, there will be no street jamming activities this time around.
