St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN) – The proposed 2022 budget for Nevis has passed.
Hon. Mark Brantley, Premier of Nevis and Minister of Finance in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA), laid the Appropriation Bill (2022) in the parliament on Tuesday, December 07, 2021.
The bill allows for a total government expenditure of $229,044,850 for 2022.
Despite criticism from the parliamentarian opposite, the Hon Cleone Stapleton-Simmonds, who proposed alternative approaches to Brantley’s plan over the following two days, the bill was passed unanimously on December 09, 2021.
The Federal Budget hearing will begin on Tuesday, December 14, where Prime Minister the Hon Dr Timothy Harris will present the Federation’s Appropriation Bill (2022).
